Foxconn in talks to build first Apple plant in India

Soon, we may be entitled to the iPhone “Made in India”! Reuters confirms the rumor about Foxconn, Apple partner, which plans to build factories in India designed to produce future iPhones. Subhash Desai, Minister of Industry of the State of Maharashtra, who leaked the info in an interview, even specifies that these factories could receive production lines for iPod and iPad.

Previously, Foxconn said it would consider building up to a dozen facilities in India by 2020. This would allow Apple to be more present in India. Indeed, the country’s government would allow the California firm to open its own stores provided to manufacture its aircraft in the territory.

The other important point for Apple, is being able to enjoy a labor still cheaper than in China, where it is also on the increase.(Source: Reuters)
