The wait is over. With the release of unc0ver 3.0.0 beta 30, it is now possible to jailbreak iOS 12, iOS 12.1.1 and iOS 12.1.2 with complete support for Cydia and Cydia Substrate.
It is important to note that currently, this version of unc0ver works only on A8X-A11 devices, that is devices up to iPhone X, with support for newer devices like iPhone XS, XS Max, XR, new iPad Pro and older devices with A8X like iPhone 6, iPhone 5s should arrive later.
It is also important to note that this is still a beta version which means it will be subject to bugs.
The important notes to know before jailbreaking your iPhone or iPad do as follows:
Delete the OTA file from Settings -> General -> Free Space iPhone, if present in the list of apps, and restart before attempting the jailbreak to prevent a possible boot loop.
• This version contains full support for Cydia and Substrate for iOS 12 on compatible devices listed above. This means that Cydia and the Tweaks are fully functional.
• Some repositories may not work with Cydia / APT due to a bug in the Apple code on iOS 12 (see https://twitter.com/sbingner/status/1099050396557893632)
On iOS12 with the same settings (running the same file) a CFReadStream on an HTTPRequest reports ONLY supporting TLS 1.0 while iOS11 reports TLS 1.0 through 1.2 – what? Why? What are you doing @Apple pic.twitter.com/LCs0StK8Pa— Sam Bingner (@sbingner) February 22, 2019
• Restart and try again to run the jailbreak if it remains stuck in “Extraction of Cydia …”
If you use one of the compatible firmware, you can safely run the Jailbreak procedure, however, if you have already upgraded to iOS 12.1.3 or iOS 12.1.4, you will have to downgrade to iOS 12.1.3 beta 3, since Apple is still signing this firmware.
Step 1: If you are using a compatible iOS 12 firmware, go to step 2 below or else downgrade your iPhone or iPad compatible with iOS 12.1.1 beta 3 by downloading it from here.
Step 2: Download unc0ver 3.0.0 IPA
Step 3: Download Cydia Impactor
Step 4: On your iPhone or iPad, make sure that Find My iPhone is disabled, that there are no OTA updates waiting to be installed and the access code on the device is disabled. When finished, connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer.
Step 5: Now use Cydia Impactor to install the unc0ver jailbreak IPA on your device.
Step 6: Once the IPA is installed on your device, go to Settings> General> Device Management and make sure the profile is trusted and authorized for the app you sideloaded.
Step 7: After that, go to the Home screen and launch the unc0ver app. Click on the “Jailbreak button” and wait for the jailbreak process to complete.
Step 8: Upon jailbreak completion , your device will respring, then the Cydia app should appear on your Home screen. If Cydia is not present, start the unc0ver app again and click on re-jailbreak. Keep repeating until Cydia shows up on your device.
Now you can launch Cydia and enjoy the jailbreak! This is semi-untethered like all recent released jailbreak, which means you’ll have to re-jailbreak your device after every reboot on top ofre-installing uncOver app after every seven days.
