Since the Nexus 5 has been officially announced by Google, developers have working on rooting t this new Android 4.4 kitkat Nexus 5 which is like iOS jailbreak on the Apple smartphone, one of the most anticipated , not only for its direct support for hardware and upgrade as soon as possible but by its very affordable price , which is free and makes it ready to use with any carrier .
For now Chainfire has already had their hands on the new smartphone from Google and LG and I could rootearlo using CF -Root -Auto , which will soon not only be able to access root, but you can install custom recoverys , unlock the bootloader , mods, roms like CyanogenMod , Paranoid , other AOSP based roms , AOKP , etc. .
Prerequisites:
- Install the Android SDK that has the adb last updated of Android SDK (not required)
- If you just want to have the adb files necessary to install a royalty or production or recovery img files with the extension , download ADB Tools.
- Make sure you have at least 50% battery so that the process is not interrupted.
- Google USB Driver [link]
- Have USB debugging mode enabled
How to Root Nexus with CF- 5 Auto Root
Download and unzip CF- Root- Self – hammerhead hammerhead – nexus5.
Put your device in bootloader mode / Fasboot | Turn your smartphone, press Vol + , Vol- and power button
Already in Bootloader mode connect your device via USB to your computer, open the folder with the decompressed file CF- Root Auto and runs according to your platform.
Windows:
- – Run root- windows.bat
- – Linux
- – Chmod + x root- linux.sh
- – Run root- linux.sh
Mac OS X
- – Chmod + x root- mac.sh
- – Run root- mac.sh
Follow the instructions on your computer screen and eventually your device will reboot with the latest SuperSU installed.
Very Important: To use CF -Auto Root not necessary to have released bootloader , makes a rooteo easily and clean ( non-intrusive ) and not install any custom recovery as TWRP or CWM , this method is ideal for users who just want root access apps to freeze and / or install and use applications that require super user permissions , it is recommended that you install Busybox from the Google App Store Play. In order to proceed with the installation first, download and install the recovery ClockworkMod 6.0.4.4 or TWRP 2.6.3.4on the Google Nexus 5
then copy the custom recovery image of your choice (we recommend TWRP ) to the unzipped folder ADB Tools (which was part of the prerequisites) where the files are : adb.exe , AdbWinApi.dll , AdbWinUsbApi.dll , fastboot.exe , notice.txt and source.properties or you can copy the platform -tools that have the Android SDK installed on your PC folder.
The ADB Tools platform -tools folder or press the SHIFT key on your keyboard + Right Click on your mouse and departure options you choose ” Open command window here ” .
In the script editor type : adb devices and press Enter, with this command you make sure you read your device, then writes:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery cwm – 6.0.4.4 – hammerhead – unofficial.img (if you intend to use CWM )
fastboot flash recovery TWRP – 2.6.3.4 – OpenRecovery – hammerhead.img (if you intend to use TWRP )
Once you have completed the process you will have a custom recovery installed . With these steps and have your Nexus 5 : Root + Busybox + TWRP or CWM , so you need to install roms , mods , apps , etc. .
