iOS 13 Beta 1 and iPadOS 13 Beta 1 Release to Developer

As scheduled, Apple officially presented what will be some of the main developments that will come hand in hand with the next version of both iOS and tvOS, watchOS and macOS. In this article, we are going to focus on the new features integrated into iOS 13 as well as the new features for the iPad.

iPadOS, as Apple has called the iOS version that will arrive in its final version from September, presents a large number of new features, many of which had been demanded by the community. Although in recent years, Apple had focused part of their efforts on improving it, with the arrival of iOS 13, everything will change.

Dark Mode

The long-awaited Dark Mode arrives on iOS 13, but the news is more succulent than what was already announced during the presentation. Both on the iPhone and on the iPad, it is possible not only to change the appearance of the device theme in tap but also to change the theme based on the time of day. This is the same possibility already offered by Night Shift but applied to the dark mode.

Dynamic Background

Remaining in the “dark” theme, iOS 13 introduces new dynamic backgrounds that will change background tones based on the selected theme. Functionality that, together with the TrueTone Display will improve the experience of using the iPhone even during long sessions of use.

Volume slider and silent mode

It also changes the display of the volume level is changed from the home or from other apps that are not playing multimedia content. At the first touch, the same slider that we find in the control center will be reproduced, at the second a more discreet slider. In both cases, it is possible to interact not only with the side buttons but also directly by making a swipe on the display.

It also changes the display of activation and deactivation through the side slide of silent mode.

New App Music interface

The official application Musica changes some graphic parts: the player is much more pleasant and integrates not only the ability to read the lyrics of the songs but to follow the progress of the text itself. As with all other system apps, the Music app turns black in dark mode. The choice of the red font in contrast with the black is really excellent.

Reminders

Apple has also updated the reminder app: it changes not only the interface but also some possibilities to organize your reminders in a more interesting way. The design becomes much more appealing than before.

Sharing menu

A change is also the sharing menu which, in this case, is at work in the new iOS 13 Photos app. The feeling is that all the features are grouped in a more rational way and more easily accessible.

Photo

The Photos app partially changes and rationalizes the display of content. What changes most is the general photo view which now becomes more rational and easier to use. In the second screen, you can instead appreciate the app Photos in dark mode even in the Favorites view.

As planned, and because they are the oldest devices, Apple has left out of the iOS 13 update to the iPhone 5s and iPhone 6, devices that do not reach 2GB of RAM that has both the iPhone 6s like the iPhone SE, older devices that are still upgradeable to iOS 13.
