iOS 14 code confirms iPhone 9

From an iOS 14 code fragment, we have a confirmation of the iPhone 9 release, however, it seems that the mysterious new phone will be marketed in two versions. For several weeks now the arrival of a new entry-level iPhone seems certain, albeit with delays due to the Coronavirus pandemic that is scourging the whole world.

According to what was revealed by 9to5Mac, it seems that Apple has two different smartphones planned, at least apparently, only for the dimensions that should be around 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch. It is therefore legitimate to think that Apple will also present an iPhone 9 Plus, even if at the moment there are no more precise details confirming the name we use.

If Apple confirms this choice, it would undoubtedly make sense since these new iPhones are iPhone 8 replacement which currently represents the entry-level range of the iPhone line-up. The clues emerging from the code fragment highlight some hardware specifications, namely the presence of the A13 Bionic chip currently installed on the entire iPhone 11 and 11 Pro range; this would make these devices very attractive for all those who are in the process of changing their devices but do not intend to spend A lot of money for a top of the range.

From an aesthetic point of view, these new iPhones should represent a step backward compared to recent models, with the return of the physical home button. This means no Face ID and a return to touch ID, for many still the best unlocking solution for their devices.

As always, keep in mind that this article is based on rumors and speculations, which may be with Apple’s plans. In short, we just have to wait for the company’s moves to understand what awaits us from this new device.
