A recent report shows that Apple is working on a larger and “updated” version of iPhone SE that will be available this year. Recent rumors indicate that Apple is working on a new iPhone SE that will start production during the second quarter of2020.
One of the new design changes expected for this next generation of the “iPhone SE 2” is an appearance very similar to the iPhone 8, with a 4.7-inch LCD screen and Touch ID. It could match the iPhone 11 in performance, thanks to Apple’s latest A13 Bionic chip.
This new model would be for those who want a bigger and low-cost phone, something that could come at the end of 2020.
“The latest news that comes from the supply chain, lets us see that Apple is likely to add another model based on an LCD screen to its iPhone line by 2020“, this can be read in the latest Digitimes report.
“This new model will be an updated version of the iPhone SE2 that will feature a 5.5 or 6.1-inch LCD screen.”
Specialists expect the largest device to arrive “at the beginning of 2020 or the end of 2020”.
So far, we do not have any other details inside, so we do not know what to expect in terms of cameras and processors. The iPhone SE 2 is likely to be larger like the iPhone 8 Plus, but with a faster Bionic A13 chip.
To confirm these rumors, Digitimes cites sources from the supply chain, which speak of six new iPhone models by 2020.
This would include the two models of the iPhone SE 2, two successors of the iPhone 6.1-inch, and of course the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max
It is important to note that Digitimes has a great history of Apple rumors. Which has always turned out to be accurate in the past?
With that said, it would make sense for Apple to launch a larger iPhone SE 2 to the low-cost market. A relatively simple formula to make money with the hardware that your suppliers are already familiar with the production.
