iPhone SE 2 may be called iPhone 9, according to an informed source cited by the Japanese blog Mac Otakara.
The report states that the device will have a form factor similar to the iPhone 8 with a 4.7-inch display with fairly present frames and a physical home button with Touch ID, but inside, there will be an A13 Bionic chip and 3 GB of RAM. Like the original iPhone SE, the device should not support 3D Touch.
iPhone 9 would certainly be a more appropriate name for the device since it looks more like a successor to the iPhone 8 than a successor to the iPhone SE, given the design it will adopt and the 4.7-inch display, clearly larger than the 4-inch display inches of the original iPhone SE.
However, this should become the cheapest iPhone on the market, with a price that will probably start around $399 with 64 GB of storage and will come in gray, silver and red, according to the well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Multiple reports have indicated that the device will be released by the end of the first quarter of 2020.
