With LineageOS 15.1 the first Nightly version of the Android version, which builds on Android 8 Oreo, is released today. Changes to the previous version include a dark theme and new icons.

The Android variant LineageOS will be released this night as Nightly build in version 15.1. It is the first lineage edition based on Android 8 – more specifically on Android 8.1, the earlier version 8.0 was skipped. The previous Lineage version based on Android 7.1.2 had been released rather quickly after the release of the Android update, but it took longer with Android 8. For the delays was according to developers the conversion to Project Treble responsible. Future updates should be easier to implement again.

Among the user-noticeable changes to the new Lineage version is a dark theme that can be used to change the menus, usually kept in white, and black. The highlight colors for fonts and menu items can also be set in the Lineage settings. Also new is a mode, which automatically aligns the configuration of themes and colors on the wallpaper. Lineage version 15.1 also comes with adaptive icons introduced with Android 8.

The shape of the changeable icons can be adapted to your taste. For the first time, icon packs are also supported in LineageOS 15.1.
