The media streaming Plex has started beta testing on the Apple TV app. Users will be able to find Plex content via the TV app on their iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV once the beta testing is over. Also, the app can act as a hub for other apps streaming content like Hulu and Amazon Prime Video. This will make it easier to keep track of what they are watching in a single app, without the need of switching between individual apps.
This Plex testing phase on the Apple TV app was first noticed by Will Sigmon, who shared it on Twitter. Meaning that those taking part in the test will be able to see Plex content on the TV app.
However, it seems like the integration is not yet perfect Sigmon reports the contents he has stored on his Plex server are not correctly reproduced with the TV application. But this may not even be a bug Plex may be planning to integrate only the content it offers through its streaming service.
