Not one but two consoles that Microsoft presented during the E3 press conference in Los Angeles. On one side is Xbox One S, a smaller version of the current model and ability to play video at 4K, and the other Project Scorpio, a completely new hardware that the Redmond company has presented as “the most powerful console ever built “.
The leaks in recent days and pointed to the possibility that Microsoft presented two consoles and eventually fulfilled this forecast. However, while Xbox One S will go on sale this summer, Project Scorpio will have to wait at the end of 2017.
As in previous iterations of Xbox, the new model Xbox One S comes as a reduced version (is 40% smaller), is capable of playing video in 4K, comes in white and features in its basic version with the usual 500GB hard drive. The price of this model will be $299 and will come without charge, but a higher version with 2TB of storage, a better grip and control with a stand to place the console vertically are also marketed.
On the other hand, Project Scorpio is the codename of the future console that Microsoft aims to overcome the technical limitations of the current Xbox One. Although they have not yet revealed the specifications of the new machine from the software giant It ensures that will be able to offer games at 4K resolution and will be designed to support virtual reality experiences without compromising performance.
The two new consoles will be compatible with each other in terms of accessories and games, and will be also the current model of Xbox One. Also, both machines are characterized by their compatibility with Windows 10.
