Less than two weeks ago, a tfp0 exploit was obtained on iOS 12.2, increasing hopes of a jailbreak release. So far all jailbreak tools make public is compatible up to iOS 12.
For most of the jailbreak community, the complete procedure is more than just root access to a device’s filesystem; most users also rely on a package manager to install èpreferent extensions and apps. Pwn20wnd announced in his twitter that both Cydia and Cydia Substrate seem to work perfectly on iOS 12.2.
This should come as no surprise since there are not many differences between iOS 12.2 and 12.1.2 apart from security patches and some small features; on the other hand, however, it is a particularly positive news given that Saurik has not been updating Cydia Substrate for some time, but that could still work on iOS 12.2.
Although it is not guaranteed that a jailbreak of iOS 12.2 will be released, remember that Cydia Substrate does not yet support devices with Apple A12 (X), such as iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max.
With that said, Pwn20wnd’s unc0ver jailbreak partially supports these devices but seems to be working to bring full support on these devices.
