QuickSilver Mac OS X launcher emerges after 10 years of beta



The final release of popular Mac-launcher QuickSilver is available to download. The development began in 2003 and since then – for more than 10 years – the application is in the beta stage, having to form around a large community.

Program developers say that the way the first stable version of QuickSilver – it is not just the formal transition, and the sign “readiness tool for everyday computer users to use Mac». QuickSilver runs on operating systems Mac OS X 10.6, OS X 10.7 and OS X 10.8.

The final version of Quicksilver supports the same basic functionality as before – it allows you to quickly launch programs, open files by pressing the key or keys gestures. Quicksilver supports many plug-ins, including Chrome, iTunes, Safari and 1Password, which seriously enhance the functional applications. Simultaneously with the release of Quicksilver 1.0 developers said they would like to attract independent programmers and make the utility platform for the rapid management of not only the operating system itself, but also third-party software.
