RIM To License BlackBerry 10 OS License To Others


In an interview with Bloomberg,  Manufacturer Research in Motion BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins confirmed that the company's new platform for BlackBerry 10 OS smartphones probably going to license other manufacturers . Heins confirming earlier rumors and speculation that RIM's new BlackBerry platform 10 also available to other handset manufacturers want to make.

RIM, everything seems to go up on the success of the BlackBerry 10 OS and new devices equipped with this going to be like the recently announced 4G variant of the playbook. The company is engaged in a major reorganization to regain financial health and has also started a number of acquired companies to sell. Among other Newbay will be sold now that cloud services to 80 million members. The Irish service users could upload and share a variety of content on smartphones, tablets and computers.

The new platform is in the final stages of testing, and RIM is now considering how other companies may be able to use it in a range of products, Chief Executive Officer Thorsten Heins said today. The BlackBerry 10 lineup was built on software called QNX, which is used in cars, nuclear plants and military drones.

The license on software publishing is not new to RIM. The 10 new BlackBerry platform is based on the QNX platform of the same developer. QNX was a few years ago by RIM and has maintained an extremely stable platform that is used in the auto industry and even for military purposes to nuclear weapons. The license issue on BlackBerry 10 forms an extension to the extensive licensing program and RIM QNX.

It is not known if RIM's new software will make available to other manufacturers. RIM is expected early 2013 launch its first BlackBerry smartphone that runs on BlackBerry 10 OS.
