Reports of users who find themselves locked out of their Apple ID on the iPhone are increasing
iPhone users with locked Apple IDs can not access the data stored on iCloud and the various Apple services related to the account, such as the App Store or Apple Music. At the moment, we do not know the causes of this problem, but the dynamics are always the same: on the iPhone you are asked to enter the Apple ID password, but after entering it an error message is displayed informing the user of the fact that the account has been blocked for security reasons and that users must verify their identity to unlock it.
To do this you need to click on “Unblock account” in the popup shown on iOS and answer a series of security questions. Alternatively, you can access the relevant Apple support page and follow the instructions. Once the procedure has been completed, a new password must be set and the account will be unlocked again.
As we said at the beginning, the cause of this block is not yet clear, but the reports are very many and from all over the world. Probably it was an error in the security protocols account managed by Apple, but there is also the possibility that there has been a hacker attack and that the protection system has worked properly.
The first information leaked by Apple tends to exclude that it was a bug. We will keep you updated.
