The App Retailer Turns Three: 15 Billion Downloads, iPhone, iPad, Mac App Retailer


Three years already … It’s certainly July 10, 2008 that the App Retailer opened&#a hundred and sixty;.&#one hundred sixty;On the time,&#one hundred sixty;the iPhone 3G was released in the U.S., there was not yet iPad , let alone Mac App Store and Apple invented a name, in the absence of a concept. Three years Later, the success of the App Store still going strong, quite the contrary .


The principle of a store containing all the applications available for a platform was not new, but never a shop like this had been so successful. The App Store is the exclusive means to install an application on the iPhone (unless you go through the jailbreak), certainly, but the success of the shop also reflects the success of IOS devices themselves. Three years later, Apple store has 425,000 applications for more than 15 billion downloads .

A little later after the app Store introduction, different smartphone manufacturers came up with their own mobile store to compete with Apple in  which Google create Android Market, App World for RIM Blackberry, Windows Market for Microsoft Windows Phones and so on..


Staggering figures that leave its competitors far behind, even if the Google Android Market is moving very quickly.
