This Is How The iPhone X Face ID Sensors, Says KGI Analyst

The iPhone X is definitely prominent. From the hardware to design level, it is the proposal with which Apple intends to offer basic functionalities of every smartphone, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who reveals the sensors that Apple would have included

As can be seen, sensors to improve the response of the smartphone to different light conditions, adjust the colors of the screen (True Tone Display) and of course a camera that is expected to integrate its own vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) to emit an infrared spectrum that allows the three-dimensional detection. For what will Apple use to improve hardware at the implementation of applications that make use of augmented reality through its ARKit. But not only that, but to allow the camera to use face recognition technology, Face ID, that works just as well in low light conditions.

…the structured light modules are likely vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) arrays operating in the infrared spectrum. These units are used to collect depth information which, according to Kuo, is integrated with two-dimensional image data from the front-facing camera. Using software algorithms, the data is combined to build a composite 3D image.

On the other hand, the loss of continuity in design thanks to the notch of the iPhone X represents a challenge for the interface of iOS 11. This has forced Apple’s edit the behavior of new “ears” that has the screen iPhone. For example, when making a call, everyone will remember that a line bordered the top border in green; if we were doing a recording, this line had a red color. With the new iPhone X, a red or green indicator will suffice on the left side of the notch, depending on the application we are running.

Breadcrumbs, those small indicators that allow us to easily return to the previous screen or application, will also be located on the left side of the notch. It is also clear that the indicator of the mobile network, WiFi and the battery will be located on the right side of the notch. This right side will also be the place where a new charge indicator is to be displayed.

The launch of the iPhone X, iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, Apple Watch LTE as well as new iPads will be next September 12. It is certainly an iconic moment in Apple’s history not only because of the novelty in its products, but because the smartphone that would change everything, the iPhone, is celebrating its tenth anniversary, we believe, hence derives its name iPhone X.
